Before founding Cheddi Bassoo, Cheddi earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with First Class Honours from the University of Buckingham, where he received several awards for academic excellence and achievements in legal skills. He went on to complete the Law Practice Program at Ryerson University and obtained a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee of Accreditation, Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Cheddi also holds a Paralegal Diploma from Seneca Polytechnic and is certified as a Registered Real Estate Professional through the Ontario Real Estate College (OREA).
